Police and fire departments are responding to a plane crash and small wildland fire near Ponderosa Golf Course in Truckee, CA where a twin turbo jet, Bombardier Challenger 605 aircraft with the tail number N605TR hit a patch of bad weather about a mile from the Truckee-Tahoe Airport. The aircraft purchased on February 27th, 2020 was making a routine stop to land at Truckee-Tahoe Airport around 1:18 PM where it went down in the forest.

Reports are saying the pilot communicated with the control tower, but officials are unsure if the pilot communicated that anything unusual with the plane before the crash. The fire has since been contained and are no threats of significant wildfire to Truckee CA. According to the FAA six people were killed in the crash.
