The plane crashed into the Haulover Inlet Bridge in Miami

A small plane crashed onto a highway bridge, burst into flames, and injured 6 people, 2 critically when it collided with a car on a Miami highway Saturday afternoon.

According to ABC Miami, “the single-engine Cessna 172 with three people on board lost engine power after taking off from Fort Lauderdale en route to Key West.”

The video, which was posted on Twitter, showed the little plane being flattened and caught on fire in the middle of the highway. According to CBS 4 Miami, “the plane struck the SUV when it landed on the highway.”

New York Post reports, “the plane went down on the Haulover Inlet Bridge at the northern end of Biscayne Bay in Miami Dade County, near Bal Harbour, shortly before 1 p.m., according to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue.”

According to CBS Miami, six individuals were hurt, two of them critically. One was flown by air rescue to the Ryder Trauma Center, while the other was taken to a hospital in an ambulance.
