SatCon Brings Starlink Connectivity to the Hawker 800XP — Office-Level Wi-Fi at 40,000 Feet

For years, the ultimate inflight internet experience belonged exclusively to the ultra-long-range elite — aircraft like the Gulfstream G650ER and Bombardier Global 7500 — where Wi-Fi systems came with installation costs north of $250,000. Smaller aircraft, while luxurious in every other sense, were left behind when it came to connectivity…That all changes now.

SatCon, the West Palm Beach-based avionics innovator, has officially launched Starlink installation capability for the Hawker 800XP, marking a new era for midsize jet owners. For the first time, operators of aircraft under $4 million can now experience the same high-speed, low-latency connectivity as jets ten times their value — and they can do it for just $75,000.

“Connectivity Shouldn’t Cost Three Times More Just Because You’re in the Sky.”

At an entry cost of $75,000, SatCon is making a bold statement: staying connected at altitude doesn’t need to carry a six-figure premium.

Competing systems like Gogo Avance L5 or Honeywell JetWave often exceed $100,000 to $250,000, yet still fall short of Starlink’s unmatched speed and coverage. SatCon’s installment of Starlink integration brings speeds up to 100 Mbps and latency as low as 70 ms, letting passengers stream, FaceTime, or host video meetings with no compromise in quality — the same performance they’d expect from their office connection.

Sara Lake, SatCon’s Director of Marketing, shared the company’s vision:

“We’re looking forward to seeing a new category of jets with the same connection capabilities as the ultra-long-range categories.”

From Takeoff to Touchdown — The Office in the Sky

With this installation, Hawker 800XP passengers can conduct video calls, use VPNs, collaborate on cloud documents, and even stream entertainment without interruption. Whether working or unwinding, passengers are connected — all the way from boarding to landing.

But perhaps most impressive is how quickly it all comes together.

SatCon’s Director of Maintenance revealed that the entire Starlink installation can be completed in just 24 hours, keeping aircraft downtime to an absolute minimum.

“We know how valuable every flight hour is to an owner or operator. Our team designed the process to be as seamless as possible — most installations are completed within a single day,” the Director stated.

That efficiency means operators can have next-generation connectivity installed and flying within 24 hours, a massive leap forward compared to traditional systems that can take days or even weeks to certify and configure.

Expanding Access — and Expanding FAA Approvals

SatCon’s engineering team is already developing additional FAA STCs for other midsize cabin jets. Their main focus: expanding Starlink installation eligibility to aircraft valued under $4 million — the segment that represents the majority of the private jet market.

This initiative stands to democratize inflight connectivity, making enterprise-level Wi-Fi standard across the skies — not just in the rarefied world of $70 million aircraft.

The Democratization of Connectivity

By bridging the gap between affordability and advanced technology, SatCon is spearheading a movement that could reshape private aviation as we know it.

Until recently, seamless connectivity at 40,000 feet was considered a luxury feature — now, it’s a realistic expectation for operators across the midsize fleet. SatCon’s 24-hour Starlink installation makes it faster, smarter, and more accessible than ever before.

Because in 2025, connectivity isn’t a privilege — it’s power.
