- What kind of experience your $450,000 ticket will get you
- How long the waiting list is for a trip to space
- When Virgin Atlantic will be making these flights commercial
Virgin Galactic is re-opening ticket sales, giving anyone who can afford a $450,000 ticket a chance to take a ride into space. Virgin Galactic’s founder, Richard Branson has been saying for over a decade he would be among the first to test out the technology, and now commercial flights to space will be operating as soon as 2022. There are three ticket price offerings, the first is a single ticket for $450,000, next is the option to buy out all six seats for a discounted price, and prices for seats to be featured in “microgravity research and astronaut training” will be priced at $600,000.
Virgin Galactic is also going to be raffling off two seats on SpaceShipTwo to people who have donated to Space For Humanity which is a non-profit with a goal of helping to democratize space, which over 125,000 people have donated to. Over 600 people have bought and held tickets as early as a decade ago, so the waiting list for a chance to go to space is very long. SpaceShipTwo will offer customers an hour-long total experience, including a few minutes above what the American government considers to be the limit of space. Customers will ride to about 40,000 to 50,000 feet in the air while the space plane is attached to a massive winged mothership. Claim your ticket now for a chance to go to space!
