- Why the pilot had to descend to help the pregnant woman
- A tweet from Air Mobility Command
The U.S Air Force said that an Afghan woman went into labour en route to Ramstein Air Base in Germany. Medics boarded the plane as it landed at Ramstein Air Base in Germany and delivered the baby in the aircrafts cargo hold.
Once the baby was born, both the baby and mother were brought to a nearby medical facility where they are said to be in good condition. At one point during the journey, the pregnant woman began having complications and the pilot had to descend in order to increase air pressure aboard the plane which helped stabilize the woman and saved her and her babies life. In the picture below is a tweet from Air Mobility Command about the Afghan woman who gave birth.
