Piper Pilot 100i Aircraft Receives Approval From the EASA

Piper Aircraft, Inc. has been given approval from the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) for its Pilot 100i trainer aircraft. The Pilot 100i aircraft enters the trainer segment at a competitive price point, is IFR equipped, and offers comparable durability and functionality to its stablemate, the Archer TX.

John Calcagno, Interim President and CEO of Piper said, “We are eager to bring the Pilot 100i into the European market and provide flight schools with a progressively priced, proven trainer, with the growing demand for professional pilots, it is important that we bring to market a more affordable solution with optimal economics for operators to help schools manage their overall training costs.”

The price of the Pilot 100i is listed at  $298,900. The aircraft includes the Garmin G3X system with GFC 500 autopilot, which offers an advanced glass cockpit without the costs. The Pilot 100i is powered by the 180hp Lycoming IO-360-B4A which offers 128 ktas max cruise speed and 522 maximum nautical mile range with 45 minutes reserve. The Pilot 100’s interior was specially crafted to withstand the rigors of flight training.
