Air Dolomiti Appoints Steffen Harbarth as New CEO

On Thursday (September 16, 2021), the Lufthansa Group announced the appointment of Steffen Harbarth, one of Lufthansa CityLine’s two Managing Directors, a Chief Executive Officer of Air Dolomiti effective January 1st, 2022. Mr. Harbarth succeeds Jörg Eberhart, who will become the Lufthansa Group’s Head of Strategy & Organizational Development on October 1st, 2021. Captain Alberto Casamatti, Director General Operations & Accountable Manager, will serve as Air Dolomiti’s Interim CEO during the transition period.

Lufthansa’s Chief Operating Officer, Ola Hansson, said,“I am very pleased Steffen Harbarth will be our new Air Dolomiti CEO. As one of Lufthansa Group‘s strategically important markets, Italy and the further development of Air Dolomiti is of major importance. Steffen Harbarth is the perfect choice for this new challenge given his considerable experience in commercial airline management and as Managing Director responsible for operational processes and Accountable Manager at Lufthansa CityLine.”

Air Dolomiti was founded in 1991 with the goal of connecting the main Italian airports to Germany, especially Munich and Frankfurt. In 2019, the airline carried over 2.5 million passengers, operating multi-day frequencies to Italian and European destinations. Air Dolomiti operates a fleet of 15 Embraer E195s and prides itself on being an efficient and reliable airline that puts customers first. The airline’s Fare plan provides five different options including three economy and two business fares, which allows guests to select the set of services that best suits their needs.
