Private Jet Company Goes Bankrupt

  • Private jet company fraud
  • Private jet charter company convicted of bankruptcy

When it comes to the private jet industry there is certainly no room to cut corners. From developing relationships, customer service, and hitting quotas everything must be up to par. However, things took a bit of a turn for Alan Russell Cook, CEO of Metropolitan Aviation in 2017 when he was forced to file for bankruptcy.

The story gets even better. According to Eastern District of Virginia, Cook had opened up fake accounts for his girlfriend under a fake company name called Metro Aire. The purpose for these accounts were “to receive his personal property and revenue from Metropolitan Aviation.”

There were many statements in which Metropolitan Aviation had made no money in a span of four months. However, all of the revenue was transferred into these secret accounts totaling to more than 1 million a month.

Horrible news for Metropolitan Aviation, and especially Cook who was sentenced to a maximum of 20 years in federal prison on April 22, 2022.
