- Rolls-Royce
- Boom Supersonic
Rolls-Royce has announced that it is no longer developing an engine for the supersonic Overture aircraft. The reason behind the cancellation was the company’s financial difficulties, according to reports. In August, Rolls-Royce revealed a $127 million loss in the first half of 2022. The firm claims it has abandoned its collaboration with Boom Supersonic.
According to Rolls-Royce, the supersonic aircraft market is not a major concern right now. As a result, the firm has terminated its involvement in the Overture project. In mid-2020, Rolls-Royce and Boom Supersonic began collaborating.
