- Starlink Satellite Internet
- JSX Aviation
The Starlink satellite Internet was tested in a commercial aircraft by SpaceX. The test flight took place in California, where it was witnessed by media from major American publications including Bloomberg.
The tests were completed using the JSX Aviation Company’s plane based in California. The flight was from Burbank to San Jose. On board were approximately a dozen people, but additional equipment was added to simulate a load as if there were 30 passengers on board instead.
The Starlink satellite Internet was able to provide speeds of over 100 Mbps for the entire flight, much to the delight of JSX Airlines head Alex Wilcox who tested the performance himself. This is all part of SpaceX’s goal to provide access to Netflix and YouTube at an altitude of 30,000 feet.
