According to Reuters, United Airlines Holdings has canceled 25 Boeing 777-200 airplanes from service this week because they failed to complete the required inspections on the wing leading-edge panels. On Monday night and Tuesday morning, approximately 18 flights were canceled.

After United Airlines discovered the issue, they reported it to the Federal Aviation Administration and created a plan to inspect all planes accordingly.

Over the course of the next two weeks, FAA inspectors will be checking planes thoroughly. In addition to this, they are also trying to understand what caused the delay in these inspections in the first place. The most recent wing leading-edge panel inspection for 777-200 planes is not connected to engines or any recent engine work and should be completed overnight.
