- Keynote Highlights
NBAA-BACE kicked off today with a range of inspiring and informative keynote speeches. Here are some of the highlights:
The Day One Keynote Session at the NBAA-BACE in Orlando, FL was headlined by an astrophysicist, a NASCAR champion, and two international aviation safety leaders. This session focused on topics such as excellence, leadership and aspiration.
NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen welcomed FAA Acting Administrator Billy Nolen and Patrick Ky, director general of the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), for a discussion about their agencies’ shared goals, including aviation’s environmental sustainability.
After that, former ABC News and PBS correspondent Lisa Stark had an engaging conversation with Neil deGrasse Tyson, an acclaimed astrophysicist, author and science commentator.
Stark mentioned that, with recent advancements in space technology – from the James Webb Space Telescope’s ability to capture images of galaxies light-years away to commercial spaceflights and privately funded initiatives like Inspiration 4 – this is an exhilarating time for anyone interested in exploring outer space.
Wrapping up the Day One Keynote was Bolen’s conversation with famed stock car racer Dale Earnhardt Jr. They spoke about his early days in NASCAR against the backdrop of his legendary father’s legacy in the sport.
