An American Airlines plane that was headed to London turned around during the flight due to a compliance issue of a facial covering.
American Airlines made a statement about the situation. “American Airlines flight 38 with service from Miami (MIA) to London (LHR) returned to MIA due to a disruptive customer refusing to comply with the federal mask requirement,”
An unnamed female passenger refused to wear a mask on the flight, and the plane decided to turn around and escort the passenger off of the plane. That passenger then dealt with American Airlines staff and other related personnel. On top of that, local authorities met the aircraft back in Miami to handle the rest of the scenario as well.
As for the rest of the trip, the flight was canceled after the incident.
American Airlines added, “we thank our crew for their professionalism and apologize to our customers for the inconvenience.”
So far this year, there have been a reported 92 counts of mask related incidents on an aircraft.
