Amid the geopolitical tensions between Ukraine and Russia, each airline is refusing to go into Ukraine.
Many of the cities and surrounding countries have put a stop to flights going into and out of Ukraine. Additionally, most countries are even refusing to fly over the country as well.
The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) made a statement about the ongoing environment. “In particular, there is a risk of both intentional targeting and misidentification of civil aircraft…The presence and possible use of a wide range of ground and airborne warfare systems poses a high risk for civil flights operating at all altitudes and flight levels.”
There is reason to “exercise caution” over Ukraine as of now, and the U.S FAA also stated that they would not fly anywhere near Ukraine as well.
Air shares have fluctuated since then and fuel prices have also soared as well. This situation is one to monitor closely as the plot thickens.
