Fatal Crash Investigation found Pilot Unlicensed and Aircraft Not meeting Specifications

A fatal crash in Australia a while back found multiple violations of the aircraft not meeting specifications, along with an unlicensed pilot flying the plane.

The Jodel D11’s engine failed mid air, and the pilot tried to make an emergency landing on the beach. According to the investigation, the pilot did not have a license to fly the aircraft.

On top of that, the seatbelts in the plane were nearly 50 years old and many of the specifications of the plane did not meet the requirements as well.

There was no specific reason as for the engine failure itself, although signs point towards the aircraft not being properly maintained.

The investigation is now closed as they refused to launch a deeper probe to understand the failure of the engine since it was not maintained for over 10 years.
