Gulfstream Aerospace, a leading business jet manufacturer, recently celebrated a significant achievement in the aviation industry. The company’s new flagship aircraft, the G700, set 25 speed records during a world tour, which was designed to showcase the aircraft’s capabilities to potential customers.

The celebration, held at Gulfstream’s Manhattan Sales and Design Center, marked the successful completion of the tour, which saw two fully-outfitted production test versions of the G700 fly to more than 20 countries across six continents. The flights connected a variety of city pairs, often 12 or more hours apart, to demonstrate the aircraft’s speed, fuel economy, and passenger comfort.

The G700 set several impressive records during the tour, including flying from Savannah, Georgia, Gulfstream’s headquarters, to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in just 12 hours and 36 minutes at an average speed of Mach 0.90. The aircraft also flew from Riyadh to Melbourne, Australia, in 13 hours and 39 minutes at an average speed of Mach 0.87. Other notable records include Istanbul, Turkey to Van Don International Airport in Vietnam, in 9 hours and 2 minutes at an average speed of Mach 0.90, and Christchurch, New Zealand to Los Angeles in 12 hours and 13 minutes at an average speed of Mach 0.87.

The world tour not only showcased the G700’s impressive capabilities but also tested the aircraft’s day-to-day flexibility, reliability, and ease of use from the pilot and customer points of view. According to Gulfstream’s CEO, Mark Burns, the tour helped boost demand for the new airplane, which is currently undergoing FAA certification. The G700 is a revolutionary aircraft that is expected to set new standards in the business aviation industry.
