Elvis Presley‘s private jet, a 1962 Lockheed JetStar, has recently made its way to Tampa Bay, Florida, after spending over 40 years sitting in a New Mexico desert. The new owner, James Webb, a YouTuber known for his channel “Jimmy’s World,” purchased the plane for $260,000 and plans to transform it into a country-touring RV to raise funds for various charities, including St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.

The significance of owning a plane once owned by the “King of Rock ‘n’ Roll” is not lost on Webb, who describes the aircraft as “flipping cool” and mentions that the Elvis connection only adds to its appeal. The jet’s journey from Roswell, New Mexico to Plant City, Florida, where it is currently being stored, covered more than 1,600 miles.

Webb’s plans for the aircraft include transforming it into an RV for country touring, an idea that is not new to him. Webb has a reputation for buying planes and giving them a new life, a process he documents on his YouTube channel. He intends to continue this tradition with Elvis’s private jet.

The jet’s interior is in surprisingly good condition, with clean swiveling seats covered in soft red velvet. A television is mounted on one of the walls, and a microwave is located at the back of the plane that still turns on and dings. Webb has not revealed any details regarding the renovations he plans to undertake on the aircraft, but given his previous work, it is safe to assume that he will make the jet’s transition to an RV a reality.
